A pure, single vineyard, expression of Southern Tasmanian Pinot Noir, the 2015 D2 Brut Rosé is a sophisticated aperitif-style of Rosé. Fresh, taut and lean in contradiction of its 10 years of age, expect it to open out to the elegant generosity which typifies the year. It is long, dry and complex with aromas of raspberries, cranberries, ripe peach, cherry and alpine herbs. A fresh, fine palate of red berry fruits with a zing of raspberry sherbet on the mid-palate overlay umami characters derived from the 5-year sojourn on yeast lees followed by another five years under cork. The firm acid line and thrust of tannin compliment a delicately textured mouthfeel to give a focused, refined, balanced palate and lingering, dry satisfyingly, moreish finish.
